The US Is Allowing Citizens of Muslim Countries to Denied Visa

After almost 25,000 immigrants from Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen were denied the US visa as part of President Donald Trump’s “Muslim ban”, they are currently allowed to reapply for free.

The decision was made as part of an agreement between immigrant groups and the Biden administration, which was approved by a federal judge in San Francisco, VisaGuide.Global reports.

More Than 41,000 Visas Were Denied As Part Of Trump’s Travel Ban Between 2017 And 2021

When Biden lifted former President Donald Trump’s immigration visa ban in January 2021, it also became known that more than 41,000 visa applications had been rejected in the last four years.

Persons from the above-mentioned seven Muslim countries were denied a visa in accordance with Proclamation 9645 between December 8, 2017 and January 20, 2021, but they did not receive a waiver and have not received a visa since then.

The regulation states that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must notify the group members within 30 days and give final instructions within 80 days. Group members have the right to submit new visa applications and receive a one-time, non-transferable fee credit. The Ministry is obliged to accept new nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications from group members for 365 days, provide fee credits and make consular appointments.

New Opportunities for Visa Applicants Affected by Trump’s Travel Ban

According to Reddy Neumann Brown PC (Houston’s largest immigration law firm), the following parameters are used to identify group members:

• Persons who have applied for a nonimmigrant visa or an immigrant visa and who have applied for a nonimmigrant visa between December 8, 2017 and December 20.
• No exemption has been granted from this visa refusal
• The person ultimately did not receive a visa for the same visa application after the 9645 proclamation was revoked
• The visa applied for and refused in accordance with PP 9645 was NOT an application for a diversity visa
• January 2021, THE applicant has not applied for another nonimmigrant or immigrant visa

During his 2016 campaign, Trump said that “Islam hates us” and would ban all Muslim immigration to the United States. At the same time, within a few days after taking office, he published his first version of the travel ban, in which people from seven Muslim-majority countries were banned from entering the United States.

In response to the ruling two months after, it was declared invalid by the federal courts as discrimination based on religion and nationality. When Biden took office, he lifted the ban, but people are still affected.

In September 2017, in its final version, Trump banned most immigrants from entering the United States from five predominantly Muslim countries or North Korea and Venezuelan officials. The Supreme Court approved its entry into force in December of the same year. He ruled 5: 4 in June 2018 that Trump had acted within the limits of his powers to determine that the admission of certain “classes of foreigners” would harm the national interest.
